Lori Johnston has more than two decades of experience in the financial services industry and experience in small business ownership.
Lori joined A.G. Edwards in 2001, where she developed her passion for socially responsible investing strategies. Several years later, she joined Boston-based independent advisory practice, Mayflower Advisors. Then in 2016, Lori and Jon Ellenbogen launched Impact Capital Strategies to help investors leverage the power of their investments for social good.
Prior to her financial services work, Lori was a successful entrepreneur who owned and operated two franchised Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream shops from 1997-2001 in Washington, D.C. She also served as President of the National Franchise Advisory Council at Ben & Jerry's from 1999-2000. During her tenure, Lori established a national partnership between the Ben & Jerry's corporate office and KaBOOM!, a national non-profit organization that builds community playgrounds for disadvantaged youth nationwide. She also introduced a partnership between a Washington, D.C.-based non-profit, the Latin American Youth Center, and Ben & Jerry's to purchase her Capitol Hill franchise to use as a job training source for local youth. In addition, Lori owned and operated Stompin' Grounds, an independent coffee shop that was integral to the early revitalization of the city's historic Eastern Market neighborhood.
Lori holds Series 24, Series 7 and Series 66 registrations.
Lori currently serves on the Board of Directors of the West Roxbury Main Streets (WRMS). The mission of WRMS is to promote West Roxbury’s business district as an appealing destination and the dynamic center of the community. As a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, WRMS brings together local volunteers, businesses and public agencies to strengthen the district’s economic vitality, physical appearance and unique local character.
Lori enjoys kayaking, seeing live music, and spending time outdoors with her family and friends. She lives in West Roxbury with her wife and their three children.

Winning a road race in England while I was in college and sharing a hot tub with Ben and Jerry – the men, not the ice cream.
What are three things people would be surprised to know about you?
I learned blacksmithing at an adult summer camp, I can't stand listening to people talking on the radio – even NPR – and I never honk the horn.
