Jon Ellenbogen became a Financial Advisor in 1999, helping families, foundations, and organizations manage their wealth. His areas of expertise include socially responsible investments, creating customized strategies, and risk and liability management. Jon founded Impact Capital Strategies in 2016 with his friend and colleague, Lori Johnston.

Jon aims to be known for providing clients with sound, trustworthy investment strategies that support progressive social issues, The Wall Street Journal in 2009 called Jon a "go-to guy for socially responsible investing." Jon once again earned the distinction of being a Premier Advisor - 2019 Executive Counsel. *  with Wells Fargo Advisors for providing outstanding client service.

Prior to his career in financial services, Jon was a dedicated and successful environmentalist. He founded a conservation organization, helped launch a large environmental coalition, and worked for a group of national conservation organizations.

Jon holds Series 7, Series 24, Series 66 registrations, and insurance licenses. He is on the Board of Directors of the Endangered Species Coalition and on the Advisory Boards of the Jane Goodall Institute and Earth Rights International.

Jon was born and raised in Michigan and graduated from Albion College in 1988.

Jon enjoys music and yoga. He lives in Washington, D.C., with his wife, three children and their dog.

When are you most productive?

Always. I have no "off-switch".

Who or what inspires you?

I am inspired by Jane Goodall, Brock Evans, Tom Sachs, and my close friends.

What charities do you support?

Greenpeace, Doctors Without Borders, ACLU, and Miriam's Kitchen among many others.

What's something you can't do now but are learning?

I'm working on Eka Hasta Vrksasana – one handed tree pose. I'm not sure I will ever get there, but there is value in trying.

What's on your bucket list?

Seeing a whale in the wild while kayaking – that's it!
